Consumer prices in Brazil rose 0.67 percent in June, according to official data. After a brief respite in May, the 12-month inflation rate is once again on the up, reaching 11.89 percent. The measure has remained in the double digits for the past ten months now.
June’s results were heavily influenced by higher eating out costs (+1.26 percent). Brazilians are dining out more, leading to a hike in prices “similar to other services for which demand had seen a backlog during the pandemic,” said Pedro Kislanov, the manager of Brazil’s official inflation survey.
