The Mexican government is raffling off the mansion of former cartel kingpin Amado Carrillo Fuentes. The mansion features nine bedrooms, multiple of which have indoor hot tubs, parking for 20 vehicles, a “playhouse for girls” and an “area for security guards,” according to the Mexican government. The mansion is worth $4.5 million and is located in Jardines del Pedregal in southern Mexico City.
Fuentes, known as “El Señor de los Cielos,” or the Lord of the Skies in English, is the former leader of the Juarez Cartel in the 1990s, according to reporting from Vice. He trafficked drugs into the U.S. through a network of planes that he owned and operated.
In addition to the mansion, the government is also raffling off 200 beachfront properties in Playa Espiritu, Sinaloa on Mexico’s western coast. Half of the lots are facing the sea, according to the Mexican government. However, only Mexican citizens are allowed to win the beachfront properties, so foreign winners will be paid in cash, instead.
Lottery tickets cost $10 each and can be bought online at https://www.lotenal.gob.mx/Comercial/dondecomprar.html. The lottery winners will be announced on June 28.
