Baghdad, Iraq was hit by a dust storm on Thursday, the latest in a series becoming increasingly more common in Iraq.
Dozens were hospitalized with respiratory issues, with more than 90 registered in the emergency ward of the Sheikh Zayed hospital over the past few days. Many received oxygen and were subsequently discharged.
Experts have blamed the increase in dust storms in the country on climate change and mismanagement of land and water, with some residents also believing the cause is decreased rainfall and droughts.
