SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A magnitude 4.6 earthquake that struck south of the U.S.-Mexico border Thursday night was felt across San Diego County and in parts of Southern California.
The earthquake was recorded at 9:30 p.m. Thursday about 40 miles south of Tijuana near El Sauzal, Baja California, Mexico, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The strong quake lasted several seconds and shook buildings across San Diego County.
It was felt from San Ysidro and Imperial Beach to Jacumba and Pine Valley, to Del Mar, Laguna Niguel and Murrieta — almost 120 miles away from the epicenter, the USGS said.
No injuries, damages, or tsunami danger were immediately reported in connection with the quake.
