As the war on Ukraine rages on, concern is mounting over the potential for another nuclear catastrophe in the Eastern European country.
It has been 36 years since the world witnessed in horror the catastrophic consequences of the explosion at Chornobyl – its life-altering impacts felt by some even today.
On March 4, the largest of Ukraine’s four nuclear plants came under attack by Russian forces and it has been in their control ever since. Russia is also controlling Chornobyl and is advancing toward another facility north of Mykolaiv.
As Jayme Doll reports, those who know the dangers of radiation first-hand worry not enough is being done to prevent a repeat of Chornobyl.
