Twenty-two-year-old Daniel Vanheyst was described by those who knew him best as the kindest soul you would ever meet.
Neighbours of his family in the small town of Verona are echoing that statement as they grieve his sudden death.
Vanheyst was working with his employer, Eco Tree Care, on a contract with the city of Oshawa to remove ash trees.
Officials say just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning a piece of heavy equipment killed an employee, later identified as VanHeyst.
