Snapchat has announced that very soon you will finally be able to change your username, so snapchatters can finally get rid of the embarrassing handle they made when they were a tween.
We’re looking at you, xX_hufflepuff4ever_Xx.
The game-changing update comes in from February 23.
So, when the feature becomes available, how will you be able to change your username?
How to change your username on Snapchat
If you want to change your Snapchat username and have downloaded the update, follow these steps:
- Open your Snapchat profile screen by tapping on your Bitmoji
- Tap the ‘gear’ icon
- Select ‘Username’ and then tap on ‘Change username’
- Enter your new handle
Changing your username won’t affect any other parts of your Snapchat profile.
So while your handle will be different, your contacts, Snap Score or memories will stay exactly as they are.
How to change your Snapchat display name
There is a simple solution for switching up the display name attached to your account.
Whether you’re using an iOS or Android system, the method to changing your display name is simple:
- In your Snapchat app, head to ‘My Profile’.
- Click on the settings cog wheel.
- Click on ‘Name’, where you’ll be able to enter a new display name.
