Grupo Guepardo, which represents Budget Rent-A-Car in Mexico, has signed a commercial alliance with the local unit of Chinese automaker JAC.
Under the alliance, the automaker will provide a fleet of City Cars for Budget, full-electric versions of its JAC E10X. The rental agency aims to be the first company in Mexico with a fleet of full-electric vehicles.
To start, the cars will be first offered in Mexico City. The vehicles will be available at the Benito Juárez airport or via the Budget Rent-A-Car Mexico website. Expansion is expected thereafter.
“We seek to become one of the most important players in the electric car rental market in Mexico,” says Grupo Guepardo commercial director Rodrigo Mendieta.
“Thanks to our strategic partners and allies like Budget Rent-A-Car, we can offer environmentally friendly mobility options,” adds JAC Mexico director Isidoro Massri.
More specifics on the timeline of the plans will be published shortly.
