The pandemic continues to be a big problem across Canadian provinces, with Ontario reporting 2,634 people in hospital with COVID-19 and 517 people in intensive care units on Friday.
But even though it’s clear that Omicron has already been swamping Canada’s health workers, smaller hospitals in rural areas are especially being hit hard, faced with staff shortages and very limited capacity. Mike Armstrong visits Cornwall Community Hospital in Ontario to see first-hand how overwhelmed the hospital is.
