Mexico thanks friendly country India for sending AstraZeneca vaccines
New Delhi, Feb 4 (UNI) Mexican Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard on Friday gave thanks to the “friendly country” of India and to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for sending 1.1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to his country. The top Mexican official said in a tweet: “They confirm that on Monday 1,100,000 doses of AstraZeneca will arrive from India, Serum Institute. Our gratitude to that friendly country and to @DrSJaishankar !! Another contract concluded.” Thanking him, EAM Jaishankar said that their continued bilateral cooperation highlights the strength of the privileged partnership. “I appreciate your kind words, friend @m_ebrard. Our continued cooperation highlights the strength of our privileged partnership.” In February last year, India had sent 870,000 Covid-19 vaccines to Mexico, and the President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, had voiced gratitude to India for sending the vaccines despite having a huge population of its own to vaccinate.
