With Canadian businesses still struggling during the pandemic amid Omicron’s rise, the federal government is now giving them more time to repay interest-free loans from the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) program.
The CEBA provided up to $60,000 to nearly 900,000 businesses across Canada. If repaid by the new deadline at the end of 2023, up to $20,000 could be forgiven.
But as Abigail Bimman reports, some business owners say they need more help, with so many desperately trying to keep the lights on.
